IB Structure

All IB students complete discipline based subjects

One subject from each group 1 – 5
One from group 6 (the arts) or a second subject from groups 1 – 5
Core (Creativity, Activity & Service (CAS), Theory Of Knowledge (TOK) and Extended Essay (EE))

Choose to complete three subjects at higher level (HL) and three subjects at standard level (SL)

HL – equivalent to a normal VCE subject; has three external assessments
SL – equivalent to 6 lessons a cycle; has two external assessments

Subject Notes

Anticipated subjects can be completed by students in Year 11.

Pamoja is an online teaching option. In the event that a subject that is offered on Pamoja does not have sufficient students to run as an onsite class the students will be offered the option of taking this online via Pamoja, at their own cost. Only one subject in total can be taken via Pamoja.

Additional subjects options are available via Pamoja. Students could complete one of the below subjects alongside 5 subjects and IB Core at SCHS (to make a total of 6 IB subjects). No additional Pamoja subjects can be added.
